Gage Gone Wild

The night before we left for the Cape, Gage decided that sleeping was overrated. That meant that ol' mama here had to stay awake, too. I grabbed a book I haven't read(The Glass Castle), turned on some cartoons, made a snack for the little man, and tried to stay awake. Four hours later(1am) and he was still ready to go. Every 5 minutes or so I would peek up from my book and watch Gage watch his 'toons. During one of my non-peek times Gage snatched the remote from the table without me knowing.

A few minutes later I look up from my book and Gage was still watching TV. I looked at the TV expecting Wow Wow Wubzy to be on but much to my surpise it was not. Instead of Wubzy I was staring at two girls making out with nothing on. I grabbed the remote and hit guide to see what had happened. Gage had somehow ordered Girls Gone Wild for $14.99. Right then I knew that it was officially bed time for him.

I figured one day my son would be interested in porn but not at 16 months old. He is such a character. Thank God, he had no idea what he was watching. The next morning while we are packing(We are such procrastinators) I told Adam what his son did. He started cracking up and gave Gage a high five proceeded by a "MY MAN!" congratulations. My boys seriously crack me up. I probably would have laughed more about it at the time but come on a $15 porn, little man? Couldn't you have just rented a movie for $3.95? He could have just waited and saw girls on the beach for free on the Cape.

Oh my word, that is crazy! He probably just started pushing buttons like crazy and next thing ya know - woops!! HA! At least it was unintentional. :)

That's hysterical! Well, he's definitely all boy, what can I tell you. It starts really young, my four year old has a fascination for boobs already and is always trying to grab mine, laughing at the same time. The best is when you are out in public and he says really loudly "I love your boobs mom"! Precious.

Oh my gosh what did you think of The Glass Castle??? I couldnt put that book down!! What horrible parents they were, and their kids turned out remarkably well!
My son ordered a 15.00 porn before also, but he was 13, and I intially blamed it on my husband. (I then found out it was Ashton that did it)...its been 3 years and Im still a little annoyed by it.

Holy Moly!!!That was sooo funny.
Anyways, glad to know you're back home!

At least he only ordered it once... Better than "accidentally" ordering it numerous times at $15/each.

I too have read the Glass Castle (I picked it up during boredom one day) and I couldnt believe that girls parents put those kids in the back of a uhaul with a new baby. I thought my childhood was whack!

I couldn't put The Glass Castle down. I don't usually like books like that. Those parents were majorally eff'ed up. It was heartbreaking. I feel lucky that I have awesome parents and have never known extreme poverty like that.

Oh, that's too funny! My husband is the same way with our son, giving him "atta-boys" for things that he would get mad at our daughter for...men!

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Did you actually have to pay for the steamy sex?

Meg said...

I did have to pay for it. It didn't occur to me until the next day that I probably could have called and explained the situation.

My grandson was playing with the phone when he was two and dialed 911. My daughter had no idea until the police showed up at her door!

Oh gosh. I will admit Gage has already dialed 911. I was at work so it was Adams fault for not taking the phone away. The state police called a few minutes later to check things.

I was going to say that "it could've been worse." It is a good thing you were there to switch it off before too long.

oh my goodness!!! they really should make it harder to order stuff like that... something that couldn't happen by chance!!

OH MY GOODNESS. How are you liking The Glass Castle? I thought it was an interesting memoir and what a great storyteller and life the author had!

Your son is absolutely cute! He is learning well. hehe. ;)

In 14 or more years you'll be having to watch for that more regularly. Maybe he's just taking you for a practice run:)
